Box City is a youth-focused fundraising and homelessness awareness event open to 6th-12th graders that benefits Anne-Marie House. Participants build cardboard box homes, engage in meaningful educational activities about homelessness in New Hampshire and the United States, enjoy light refreshments and sleep outside overnight. We call this “sleeping outside… so others don’t have to!”

We encourage participants to sign up as part of a service club, school group, boy scout/girl scout troop, faith-based youth group, or other youth organization. This just makes things more fun! A minimum of one adult chaperone per five youth under 18 is required. Each group is asked to provide their own chaperones for the event.

Registration is just $10 per participant. Prior to the event, participants are also asked to collect pledges and/or spare change, all of which benefits Anne-Marie House and its mission to support children and families experiencing homelessness. Register NOW for Box City by filling out a registration form, enclose your $10 registration fee of and:

Fax to Anne-Marie House at (603) 883-8335

-OR-

Mail to: Anne-Marie House, Attn: Box City, 180 Lowell Road, Hudson, NH 03051

Upon registering, you will be emailed an information packet about the event, which includes a pledge form and instructions on how to obtain your “House for Change” collection box. Your pledge form and “House for Change” are tools to help you start fundraising for Anne-Marie House! Ask friends and family to support you and AMH with a donation. Collect spare change. Have a bake sale and donate the proceeds toward your Box City efforts — use your creativity to help those in need! Box City is held rain, shine… and even snow!

Make Someone Happy Campaign
February – June 2011

The Make Someone Happy Campaign is Anne-Marie House’s annual appeal to its volunteers, donors, fellow community members, neighbors and friends for a few dollars to help continue funding its mission of supporting children and families experiencing homelessness. AMH community members will receive two letters and two e-mails asking for your support. Read the second “Make Someone Happy” letter from AMH Board President, Frank Manley. (And, you can read the first “Make Someone Happy” letter too). The dollars you donate are critical to helping us maintain our facility, provide nutritious meals, transportation and educational and life skills programming for our children and families, and more. Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $22,000, by a generous group of matching gift donors!

Please help Anne-Marie House today by making a contribution in any amount you choose. Here are just a few suggested levels and what your donation can do for the children and families living at AMH:

  • $25 buys one year of school supplies for one child
  • $50 provides one evening meal for all of our resident families
  • $100 covers tuition and supplies for one adult learning course

This year, YOU can make someone happy and make a donation in one of three ways: Donate online! It’s safe, secure and only takes a few seconds. We collect donations via PayPal, the world’s largest processor of online payments. (You do not need to create a PayPal account in order to make a donation to AMH.)
